First and foremost, congratulations, you are now engaged! This is a very exciting time for both you and your partner. All those unforgettable memories that were shared between you and your now fiance mean so much more now that it is with the person you are going to be spending the rest of your life with.
The engagement happens and now you get to start the planning process for the wedding of your dreams! There are many different starting points for couples to start off with.
Why not pick a date? This can be revolved around a date with a meaning or just a date selected for your favorite time of the year. Will it be the first date you two went on? Will it be towards the end of summer when the weather starts to cool down? Will it be on a weekday or weekend when most people can attend, etc?
Most times people revolve their selected date depending on the availability of their preferred venue of choice. Venues are always booked, especially the most unique. (Check out the last blog for venue ideas).
These are more than likely the most helpful and important decisions to make. These will help determine the rest of your important details for planning your wedding.
Who's going to be your DJ/band?
Does the venue provide tables/chairs?
What color scheme do you want?
What centerpieces are you going to have?
Who is in charge of the cake?
Are you going to have an event coordinator?
Are you going to have a transportation service for your wedding?
Do you have a photographer booked for the day?
These are just some of the bigger ideas to start looking forward to!
Then it gets into more detail...
When will you be doing the first dance? Are you doing a mother/son dance and a father/daughter?
When will you be cutting the cake? When will the toasts take place? These are all major roles for weddings but are always optional.
Everyone has their own ideal wedding planned in their head. It's YOUR wedding, YOU make it the way you want it to be!
